Global innovation platform Plug and Play is launching its first accelerator venture in Seattle. Inviting a diverse mix of startups from around the globe to participate in the initiative, Plug and Play aims to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem.
The New Wave of Tech Evolution: Seattle
Set to run from April through June 2021, the accelerator welcomes ten startups, three of which hail from the Pacific Northwest region. The wide geographical participation reflects the platform’s aspiration to attract more startups from Seattle and other parts of the Northwest in the future.
The selected startups are addressing key issues such as energy, health tech, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software. FlyX Technologies of Bellevue, Wash; Expanso from Seattle; and LŌD based in Vancouver, BC are enhancing drone charging technology, data processing, and data center infrastructure, respectively.
The virtual accelerator does not require participants to relocate to Seattle. However, Plug and Play is providing free office space for companies at the SNBL Global Gateway in Everett, Wash- a significant partner in the region.

The remaining seven startups in the first program batch showcase a unique range of innovative solutions. InfinityLoop, Aerovy, Motley Bio, Shyld AI, Myriad, Codemod Inc., and Nexxa are all working on various transformative solutions to drive business performance and efficiency.
Their solutions range from streamlining third-party contract negotiations, energy orchestration, and genome profiling for disease detection, to automating hospital processes and facilitating regulatory compliance.
Plug and Play: The Innovation Hub
Being a key player in the tech innovation realm, Plug and Play is known to run a range of startup accelerators and corporate innovation programs across the globe. Their in-house venture capital funding has backed many successful companies, bringing the likes of Dropbox, Gurdant Health, Honey, Lending Club, and PayPal to the forefront.
Its expansion to Seattle last November has added another feather in its cap, boosting its presence to more than 60 locations worldwide.
